
Centro TABCAT has been offering Folkloric Brazilian Arts programs in Ann Arbor, Detroit and SE Michigan for over 10 years. Our main instructor and director of the organization is Master Caboquinho, a BRAZILIAN Master from Salvador Bahia Brazil with over 30 years of experience in Brazilian folkloric arts and music. He is a graduated Master in Brazilian Capoeira. Our performances include various aspects of the diaspora of Brazil such as Samba Reggae, Maculele(dance of sugarcane workers), Afoxe(folkloric Brazilian rhythm), Batucada(traditional Brazilian samba percussion) and more. Some of our performances included the African-World Festival, Concert of Colors, University of Michigan, Toyota diversity celebration and more! We have also conducted hundreds of workshops & perfomances at local schools & universities such as Martin Luther King high school, Cass Tech high school and Nsoroma Insititute.
Programs:

Brazilian Capoeira Classes for Adults and Youth
Music & Movement classes for anyone interested in learning Capoeira. No experience is necessary. ALL of our Instructors are graduated and have authorization to teach Capoeira. All are graduated in the U.S and then must complete their graduation in Bahia Brazil.

Performances & Workshops for Groups or Organizations in Brazilian Folkloric Arts & Music
Our organization offers performances and workshops in a variety of Brazilian folkloric arts for interested organizations. Our artistic director Master Caboquinho has a vast repetoire in Folkloric Brazilian performing arts including OBA OBA, Viva Bahia, Scala Miami, Ile Aiye and many other groups. He has choregraphed and performed world wide.
